Refractory castables consist of suitably sized aggregates and refractory grade cements in proportions formulated to achieve certain desired properties for the particular end use. Refractory castables are highly customisable to suit applications requiring high temperature, abrasion and chemical resistance allowing Field Furnace to tailor the choice of castable to a specific need. Refractory castables are easy to install, requiring only the addition of clean water and mechanical mixing to form a heat resistant concrete piece or structure. Alternatively, some refractory castables can be pneumatically gunned into place.
